Hi Dear Ones,

Yesterday was a zoo at work. At 4p we still had at least 10 patients waiting to be seen. Ugh! The days are pretty long. I get there at about 7a and leave about 5p. . I am in trouble. The pounds are beginning to pile on. I feel like I did before the surgery. I am eating late and not working out. My goal in the next week is to work out a serious plan to start going back to the gym. I also bought a ton of fresh organic veggies last night and I am going to start munching on those. I am afraid to get on the scale. My winter coat from last year is too tight to wear! Any suggestions? It's clear, for me working has always been a way to ignore my needs.  I get so into the job, I start to neglect myself. Thats how i gained 100 lbs in one year in 2001. There is no excuse for this, I know what I have to do.

Well now that I have finished whining, I guess i will go have some coffee and get my day started.

Hugs to all,

Sharon

Sharon- for me going to workout after work has got to become a regular thing.  No excuses.  I just do it.  Stayed late...too bad.  Dr appt....too bad.  It becomes a part of your routine.  Next month I will be joining the same gym.  I am so bored here now.  I have tried to vary things by doing a DVD here at home sometimes.  But I want and need to go OUT to a gym for me to go regularly.  I had a treadmill and I almost never used it.  I can't workout at home...I get lazy.

As far as eating.  I always bring my breakfast to work...fruit and almonds.  I keep an insulated bag at work with my lunch and I always have grapes or nuts to snack on if I get tempted.  I also...no matter how busy I get take my lunch break and go for a walk or run up and down the stairs.  It's a way for me to get my heart pumping in the middle of the day.  I think doing this is good for me.  I eat my lunch at my desk then.  I also will get up and do things at my desk standing up, instead of sitting all of the time.  If I'm talking on the phone or balancing something...I stand up for 5-10 minutes.  I do this quite a few times during the day.  Its not good to sit all day long.  I will get up and walk the long way to someones desk instead of calling or email...and hand them paperwork.  I drink water constantly all day long.  I fill my cup up at least 2-3 times and its a big cup.  I dont drink the coffee or soda.

Now I actually do better at work then I do at home.

I guess bottom line is....no matter what I go to the gym after work.  We can come up with a million excuses not to go...don't talk yourself out it.  I think of it this way....I have never regretted going but always regret not going.  I always eat my breakfast.  I have a lunch and snack there for me (and try not to have any of the office snacks).  I take the time to get up and get active during my work day.  The sedate lifestyle of office workers is terrible and I read even just an hour of no movement is bad.

Hello everyone

I am sure today will go by slow since I am taking the day off tomorrow.  You know how that goes.

I made that chicken-potato soup and Chris took the chicken out and made sandwiches out of the chicken (I used whole chicken thighs) and just ate the soup with potatoes....I guess I never would have never thought to eat it that way.  But guys like their sandwiches...hahaha!!!!  He needs his carbs anyway and I gave him cheese to put on the sandwich.

I have no special plans today.

Well I have to get going have a great day everyone...bye

Good afternoon Sharon and the rest of Illinois:

Sharon, I actually did better at work also.  I was much more structured with my eating (like Crystal).  I walked at lunch and did the stairs every time I needed to go to the shop. For me, the only "workout" I did was to get up an hour early and ride a stationary bike in front of the TV before my shower.  I tried other times, but always found something else to do.  After a surgery, my bike was moved to the basement and I am ashamed to say I haven't used it since.  Todd does not want it upstairs and the basement is limestone and not the most pleasant space.  I should fix that.

I survived the extractions and am doing well.  Today, I plan to stay ahead of the pain but am thinking I may be able to go to Tylenol tomorrow.  So, I am taking it easy and on protein drinks and soft foods.

That's it for me.

Everyone have a lovely day!

I am at work, it is still so slow!

When I go home  this evening,r I am going to make some chocolate  covered pretzels I think.one more thing to be done with.

Sharon, I think that is all our problem. I can find a lot of reasons not to exercise. when I get home, I have other things that have to be done. By the time I finish, I want to go to bed, not do more.

need to get back To work.

Hugs,

Lisa
